The management team at ATP Innovations are highly experienced business builders. With expertise across a broad range of disciplines, they are able to quickly and effectively add value to your venture.

 

Over the last five years we have worked with more than 80 businesses on capital raising, building teams, accessing grants, developing new products, growing revenue and selling businesses.

Hamish Hawthown

Hamish Hawthorn,

Chief Executive
Officer.

Hamish has served as the CEO of ATP Innovations since 2007. His extensive business networks span all areas of technology, and he has a proven track record in building early-stage businesses. He has led capital raisings and strategic investments for a number of companies and serves on the boards of several portfolio businesses.

 

Prior to joining ATP Innovations in 2005, Hamish held senior roles in business development and strategy. He was the Director of R&D for the leading custom automotive wheel manufacturer, where he ran product development programs for race and road applications.

 

Hamish holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Sydney, a Master of Business and Technology from the University of New South Wales, and completed the Executive Program for Growing Companies at Stanford University. Hamish is a Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales and was the recipient of the Faculty Entrepreneur Award in 2009.

Andrew Stead

Andrew Stead,

Director Business Development.

Andrew is a business development professional who has first-hand experience of building businesses and attracting investors and buyers. He has 15 years experience in the information technology and telecommunications sector, in senior operational and strategic roles. Andrew has served on several boards, is a co-founder of Sydney Angels and lectures in entrepreneurship at the University of Sydney.

 

Prior to his current role, Andrew was responsible for commercialising technologies at the University of New South Wales. One of his key achievements there was selling a search technology to Google. Previously he held roles with UXC, Telstra and started his career as an Officer in the British Army.

 

Andrew has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from the University of Sydney, an MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2009.

Ben Wright,

Director Commercial Development.

Ben is a commercially focused professional who has worked in the biotech and medical device start-up industry since 2000. He has held both research and management positions, gaining significant experience in research & development, clinical trials, business development, operations, and the financial management of both private and ASX listed biotechnology and medical device companies. Ben has launched two successful small businesses of his own since 2005.

 

Prior to working with ATP Innovations, Ben was the Business Development Manager of a medical devices start-up. During his tenure, Ben played an active role in steering the business focus from research & development to market validation, product manufacture and launch. As part of this process Ben’s team successfully lobbied for changes to clinical best practice in the USA, which led to the business first distribution deal.

 

Ben has a Bachelor of Science (Biological Sciences) from the University of Western Sydney and a Graduate Diploma of Biomedical Engineering from the University of New South Wales.
